The Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act has gained momentum every year since it was introduced in 2016 with thousands of Oklahomans joining the Abolitionist Movement to demand abortion’s total and immediate abolition. Some among these new abolitionists, as well as a few long-time abolitionists, are seeking public office in 2020 to replace incumbents who have refused to support abortion’s abolition.
In determining who to endorse, we sent our candidate survey to every Oklahoma legislative candidate for whom we could find contact information. To be eligible for a full endorsement, they had to agree to support the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act, publicly support the Abolitionist Movement, stand up to the establishment if needed, agree with the five components of an abolition bill, agree that incremental legislation is unBiblical, unconstitutional, dehumanizing, and abolition-delaying, and that they would vote against such bills. For those who filled out the survey, we then followed up with a phone call to discuss the abolitionist ideology further.
The success of the candidates below depends on the degree to which Oklahoma’s political paradigm has shifted from a culture which is content to compromise with abortion to a culture which demands abolition. Their success depends on how aware voters in their districts are of the difference between a pro-life candidate and an abolitionist candidate. Share this page with other Oklahomans to let them know who the abolitionists are and help us shift the paradigm toward abolition by donating here.
Depending on the results of further dialogue with candidates, we may add more endorsements in the coming weeks.

Senate District 7
Warren Hamilton is a good man and a long-time abolitionist of abortion. We were ecstatic to learn of his candidacy last year because men of principle and integrity like Warren are desperately needed at the State Capitol. In his survey, he encapsulated the abolitionist spirit well, saying “The biggest tragedy is obviously the devaluation of human life, but the second is the elevation of the court over the Constitution. The court is subordinate to the Constitution, not the other way around, and everything and everyone is subordinate to the Word of God.” He has committed to author or coauthor the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act and to oppose dehumanizing or abolition-delaying compromises. He is running against Larry Boggs who has publicly opposed the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act.

Carisa is a firebrand and stay-at-home mother of four who has championed the cause of abolishing abortion for years. We are thrilled to endorse her in the Senate District 13 race. Her story is one of repentance and redemption from the sin of abortion, but our state still has not repented for the sin of abiding by Roe v. Wade. Carisa is running to change that, and she is running to replace Greg McCortney, the 2020 Oklahoma Abortion Rights Man of the Year. Carisa has committed to author or coauthor the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act and to oppose dehumanizing, abolition-delaying compromises.

Christian Ford has been a part of the Abolitionist Movement since 2017 and it’s our joy to endorse him for Senate District 28. Christian brings energy, passion, and intelligence to any discussion he is a part of and would serve the people of District 28 well. He has committed to author or coauthor the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act and to oppose dehumanizing, abolition-delaying compromises. Christian is running against Mike Haines who has publicly opposed the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act and Zack Taylor who could have introduced the bill in the House but didn’t.

Preborn children need bold, uncompromising advocates like Kaity Keith in the State Senate. We were thrilled to learn of Kaity’s candidacy and we are thrilled to endorse her. She is an abolitionist through-and-through who was inspired to run for this seat when the State Senate voted against the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act on March 11. Kaity has committed to author or coauthor the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act and to oppose dehumanizing, abolition-delaying compromises. She is running to replace Paul Scott who formerly supported SB13 before revoking his support and who authored the bill that was used as a substitute for SB13 in the Senate HHS committee.

Angie Brinlee made clear to us from the get-go that she understands the political games that are being played by so many pro-life politicians and that she intends to put an end to it by supporting abolition. Brinlee is passionate about defending the preborn and representing District 15 well. She has committed to author or coauthor the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act and to oppose dehumanizing, abolition-delaying compromises. Her opponent, Randy Randleman, has not responded to our questionnaire and did not introduce the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act in the House.

Shannon Rowell’s passion for abolishing abortion is immediately apparent when speaking to him. We are thrilled that he is running and are thrilled to endorse him. Part of Shannon’s inspiration to run was being told by incumbent Jim Grego that Grego would not support abolition. Rowell has committed to author or coauthor the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act and to oppose dehumanizing, abolition-delaying compromises.

Brenda Angel is a fierce advocate for the preborn. She has been championing the abolition of abortion from her position as Vice Chair of the Pittsburg County Republican Party, and fought hard alongside Warren Hamilton, Shannon Rowell, and Angie Brinlee and other abolitionists in the area to keep an egregious anti-SB13 resolution from being passed by the County GOP. She has promised to author or coauthor the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act and to oppose dehumanizing, abolition-delaying compromises. Neither of her opponents responded to our questionnaire

As a citizen activist, Kenny Bob Tapp has been among the most active abolitionists in the State over the past decade. He is an abolitionist through-and-through and the type of man we need advocating for preborn humans in the legislature. He has committed to author or coauthor the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act and to oppose dehumanizing, abolition-delaying compromises. He is running against Kenton Patzkowsky who has not supported the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act and did not return our survey.

Robert McMaster has been involved with promoting the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act since early this year when he promoted Abolition Day and we are pleased to endorse him. McMaster has committed to author or coauthor the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act and to oppose dehumanizing, abolition-delaying compromises, while his Republican primary opponent and his prospective general election Democrat opponent have not responded to our questionnaire.

U.S. Congressional District 2
Joseph Silk became the first legislator in any state to introduce a bill to abolish abortion in 2016 and has been the champion for the Abolitionist Movement in the State Senate ever since. He has stood firm against the establishment, never compromising an inch despite being punished by Senate leadership for his stand. He is a Godly statesman and has set the standard for what an anti-abortion legislator should look like. We fully and joyfully endorse Joseph Silk in his bid to represent Oklahoma’s second Congressional District.

The following candidates are not full-blown abolitionists, but are nonetheless supportive of the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act. For this, they deserve the support of the people in their district, though we hope that they will cross the line and become fully consistent abolitionists.
Senate District 17
On March 11, Roland Pederson was one of four Senators to vote in favor of the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act. This was a very brave thing to do as the Senators knew that doing what was right could get them in trouble with Senate leadership. Pederson did the right thing despite the political risk. We are hugely thankful for Senator Pederson’s brave stand and we are hopeful that he will become a full-blown abolitionist. His opponent did not return our questionnaire. Pederson is the best choice for District 17 voters who want abortion to be abolished.

Eric Ensley has promised to author the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act should he be elected, and also that he would not author or coauthor any incremental pro-life bills. The only reason our endorsement of him is qualified is because he said he is unsure if he would vote against pro-life compromises with abortion. Still, Ensley is the clear choice for District 1 voters and we hope to be having meetings with him at his office at the Capitol come January. He supports abortion’s abolition and is campaigning on the issue while his opponent is campaigning as an anti-abolitionist and is trying to paint Ensley as extreme for supporting abortion’s abolition.

Brice Chaffin is a supporter of abolition and an extremely likable guy. As a relative newcomer to the Abolitionist Movement, he has come a long way in his understanding of abolitionism in a short amount of time. His passion for abolishing abortion is what inspired him to run and he promised to author or coauthor the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act. The reason for the qualification is that Chaffin told us that while he will oppose most compromises, there may be some pro-life bills such as the licensing bill (HB1182) that he would support. (We believe that the licensing bill is likely to be used as a substitute bill directing support away from total abolition in the future and do not support it.) Still, our conversations with Chaffin were very productive and we’re confident that he is moving quickly toward abolitionism and the Abolitionist Movement. He is the best choice for District 33 voters.

Margie Alfonso became aware of abolitionism through the Dan Fisher for Governor campaign and has become a supporter of abolition since. She has promised to author or coauthor the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act. The reason for the qualification is that her website talks about things like defunding Planned Parenthood being the bottom line rather than abolishing abortion. We hope for and will ask Alfonso for an emphasis on abolition rather than defunding should she be elected, but she is the best choice for District 79 voters who want abortion to be abolished.

We asked candidates if they would be willing to support the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act even if it meant standing up to the Republican and pro-life establishments. Franklin Paul Cromack’s answer: “Especially if it means standing up to the Republican and pro-life establishments.” He is an abolitionist who is willing to stand for what’s right even if it costs him. We did not hear back from his Republican primary opponent or his prospective Democrat opponent. The endorsement is qualified because Cromack filled out Oklahomans for Life’s survey and agreed to things there which we reject.

Ben Janloo promised to author or coauthor the Abolition of Abortion in Oklahoma Act and told us that he opposes compromising with abortion. The endorsement is qualified because Janloo filled out Oklahomans for Life’s survey and agreed to things there which we reject. Janloo is running against one of the most pro-abortion incumbents in the state. He is the clear choice for District 97 voters who want abortion to be abolished.
