James Silberman has served as the Communications Director of Free the States since 2019 and has been the most prolific abolitionist writer since he joined the movement. His writings in The Federalist, The Resurgent, the Free the States blog, and the Are You An Abolitionist booklet have spread the ideas of abolitionism to hundreds of thousands of people and turned many into abolitionists. He has been the primary written apologist for the abolitionist ideology in responding to the incrementalist arguments of the pro-life establishment, helping to craft and the refine the case for abolitionism.

James’ responsibilities include producing and editing written content for the Free the States including legislative memos, email blasts, blogs, booklets, quad folds, and more. James is a cohost on Free the States’ Liberator Podcast and a regular speaker at abolitionist conferences around the United States. He also works on volunteer coordination, event planning, upkeep of the Free the States website, and more.
