1 Step 1
Candidate Questionnaire

Greetings from the Free the States team! The purpose of this questionnaire is to gauge your stance regarding the abolition of abortion, the Abolitionist Movement, and abortion-related legislation.

Since abolitionism was reignited a decade ago in Oklahoma, it has spread through the state, across the nation, and around the world. The achievement of abolition is beginning to become an inevitability. Abolitionists are stepping up and unseating anti-abolitionist incumbents. Entire statewide denominations and Republican parties are passing abolitionist resolutions and platforms. Even the national Southern Baptist Convention -- the largest protestant denomination in the U.S. -- passed a resolution in 2021 demanding total and immediate abolition without compromise.

We are currently looking for abolitionist candidates to endorse and your answers will help us determine whether Free the States will be able to endorse you. Please answer honestly. There may be qualified endorsements given on a case-by-case basis. We may contact you to discuss further.

Note: for questions 5-8, by “incremental pro-life bill,” we mean any piece of abortion-related legislation that compromises by regulating abortion instead of immediately abolishing it as murder.

1) I will author or coauthor a bill of immediate abolition and will vote in favor of it. (You can read an example of an abolition bill here if you haven't already.)

2) I will boldly and publicly support the cause of abolition and the abolition bill.

3) I will do these things in support of abolishing abortion even if it means standing up to the Republican and pro-life establishments.

4) I agree with all of the five components of an abolition bill. (You can read the five components here if you haven’t already.)

5) I agree that incremental pro-life bills delay the abolition of abortion by serving as a substitute for abolition, allowing legislators to prevent abortion's abolition but salvage their pro-life credibility.

6) I agree that incremental pro-life bills, by regulating abortion and thereby allowing the murder of some human beings, are both unbiblical and unconstitutional.

7) I agree that incremental pro-life bills dehumanize preborn children. (If unsure, see point three of this article for an explanation).

8) Because incremental pro-life bills are unbiblical and unconstitutional, because they delay the abolition of abortion by serving as a substitute for abolition, and because they dehumanize preborn children, I will not coauthor any incremental pro-life bills and I will not vote for them.
